Hozugawa Boat Ride
2019.11.1
Hinagu Onsen was discovered about 600 years ago, and it currently features 16 hot spring sources. The spring water is sourced at a shallow depth of less than 100 meters below ground, providing an ample supply that allows most hot spring hotels to keep the hot water flowing continuously. The simple alkaline hot springs are said to be good for soothing joint pain, nerve pain, and sensitivity to cold. Legend tells of the Hinagu hot springs curing a sword wound long ago, making this spot famous as a hot spring sanatorium. In the winter months you can enjoy a banpeiyu bath using banpeiyu pomelo specially grown in Yatsushiro.
